Musical for the Endtimes is a new original musical comedy, created by Matthew Hackket, Baliey Nadeen and Victor Sancheviesca. First presented at the Edmonton Fringe Festival 2022
In the arid wastelands that were once the outskirts of our "City of Champions," Edmonton, Alberta. Will Harlow, a down-on-his-luck, 20-something playwright, clings to his typewriter as he sleeps.
To his surprise, a roving band of masked warriors discover him and take him prisoner,
introducing him to their leader, the politician-turned-warlord, Jimmy Kenway.
Kenway spares Will, offering him the task of writing a show for the wasteland society he rules over. With his life on the line, Will works with a disgruntled actress, a clownish warrior, an eager young water-boy, and a narcissistic gladiator to create their new show.
But when it comes down to the wire, Will is seduced by the fame Kenway offers him, and must choose between making the art he wants to make, and the comforts of serving a tyrant.
