Train One to Coal Valley is a new play written by AJ Hrooshkin, directed by Giulia Romano and featuring Alexander Voutchkov, Sam Villetard and Matt Dale. Train One to Coal Valley was first workshopped at the New Works Festival in 2023, and remounted as part of the 2023 Edmonton Fringe Festival!
In a crowded engine cab, two railroaders follow the signals that propel them toward the Coal Valley Mine. Constrained by the steady sound of a locomotive and an inevitable long trip home, William and Richard pit their masculinities against each other and reckon with the marriage that unites death and discovery.
Train One to Coal Valley was also selected as “pick of the Fringe” for the 2023 Alberta Showcase as apart of the Art Touring Alliance of Alberta
